E-Z Lube Axles

EZ-lube hubs do not have a pressure relief valve.
If the EZ-lube seal fails it's most likely because it had too much pressure applied during greasing. Either that or the hubs were removed/replaced and seal damaged in the process.

When greasing, It's possible to 'feel' when the air is gone with a hand operated gun. Air pockets in the hub will compress as the air bubble makes it's way back to the outer bearing and escapes. The grease gun handle will be soft and spongy. When it gets hard, or grease starts coming out of the bearing, the hub is full of grease. If you keep pumping, the seal might pop.

EZ-lube hubs can save time and mess if properly maintained........but they can be abused

E-Z Lube LubricationE-Z Lube Hubs make the most important maintenance procedure on your trailer easy for the end user. The procedure is as follows:

1. Remove the rubber plug from the end of the grease cap.
2. Place a standard grease gun onto the grease fitting located in the end of the spindle. Make sure the grease gun nozzle is fully engaged on the fitting.
3. Pump grease into the fitting. The old displaced grease will begin to flow back out the cap around the grease gun nozzle.
4. When the new clean grease is observed, remove the grease gun, wipe off any excess, and replace the rubber plug in the cap.
5. Rotate hub or drum while adding grease.

Of course there's nothing like letting the professionals handle the job.  For any maintenence or service job please feel free to contact our service department at:
